General Drone Flight Information

Regulations

The main entity for regulation is the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

There are two categories:

  • Information specific for the operation
    • purpose of the operation and type
    • Estimated duration
    • Crew information (including pilot)
  • General UAS information including takeoff payload
  • Location and date
  • Verification of the flight zone
  • Weather forecast
    • Temperature
    • Humidity: water absorbs radio signal propagation
    • Wind speed
    • Flighting altitude: at higher altitude the air is less dense which results in loss of lift
    • visibility distance
    • Kp-index 2 (geomagnetic malfunction): In GPS mode with a MAX. of 4.

  • Loss of link
  • Fly away

some extra infomation to consider:

  • What is the flight path?
  • What might be encountered on the way?
  • What are the possible emergency landing zones?
  • What is the protocol to be followed in case of unexpected situations?

Information on Meteorology

On temperature:

  • Diurnal cycle

The altitude is measure in 1 foot = 0.3 meters
